Opportunities for volunteering and work experience
At Hunslet Moor we value the contributions that volunteers can make to our school and our children’s learning. Being a school volunteer can provide the opportunity to; be involved with a vibrant and engaging school community; engage in learning and play activities with primary age children; develop knowledge of teaching and learning across the primary curriculum and gain experience as working as part of a team in a professional environment.
As a volunteer you are not expected to teach, however you will be guided by the class teacher in how to work with children. The role includes working with children on a one to one basis, or within a small group, to help support children’s progress in all areas of their development by assisting in their learning activities and play. These skills may include; reading, social skills, language development and questioning.
In addition, as a school, we recognise the importance of supporting work experience placements both from our local high schools and universities.
If you are interested in volunteering at Hunslet Moor Primary please complete an application form to tell us a little bit of information about yourself and the areas in school you are interested in supporting. Application forms can be collected from the school office.
