Hi my name is Dax Hewitt. Being dyslexic in the late 1970's to early 80s I was almost written off at at school and left without a single qualification. I started work at 15 and never looked back. I now run my own business in the Beeston area employing people from the local area where possible and I am a great believer in giving back to the community where I live and work.
Having visited Hunslet Moor Primary school and seeing the fantastic setup they have, and the way they take special care to nurture children with additional needs much greater than I had, I feel honoured that they are welcoming me to be a part of their governing body. I hope that I can bring my experiences from both my school time and through my working life in just about every sector of industry to help shape the future of the school and contribute to a small part in helping turn a lot of disadvantaged children in to the next generation of business owners and good members of society.
